Oh hey there!

As you could probably guess, I have not been super engaged in my fitness mission as of late.

I just wanted to report that this weekend I took 3 long walks, 4 if you count a walk on Thursday.

(This is when my family and I climbed to the top of Crazy Horse. I did not walk that high or steep.)

They were nice walks out and about in the spring weather here. I hope to take more walks.

Care to join me?

I brought my gym bag to work!

Tonight I will scuttle to the gym straight from work for Body Pump.

Check out this rad gym bag! Only $75! Sigh.

I cannot believe how difficult it is to get myself to bring a gym bag to work...it took like, 3 years! 29 years if you count all the years that I did not have a gym membership!

It is pretty lame because the light rail station is 1 block from my gym and totally easy to get to from work. Then it is just a brisk 8 blocks walk home with my friend who teaches the class and lives right by me.

It will be a super frigid walk tonight (it is -3 right now, up from -21!), but so worth it! I really am so pleased with myself when I get to the gym.

A friend who just joined my gym is part of my motivation, plus my other friend who teaches the class. Also, a doctor I see who was all, "Go to the gym straight from work. Seriously."

PS:
I went to the gym on Sunday even though I was not feeling 100% due to alcohol choices I made the prior evening. Thanks to a friend who called and invited me along to the gym.

I also went to the gym last night! Nice. Thanks to the same friend!

Weighing in with celebrities!

I am thrilled to share that my sister gave me a scale for my birthday!

A celebrity scale!

Instead of numbers, it has various celebrities, so I can see how I size up to icons rather than numbers! Nice.

The scale runs from Baby Jesus to Prince to Chuck Norris to King Kong!

Now I can track my changes in weight without stressing over numbers.

Our cat weighs in between Baby Jesus and Gizmo.

I am somewhere between Dolly Parton and Stone Cold Steve Austin, so I have some work to do!

Weekend eating in review

This weekend was especially fun and festive and I saw family and friends. I did not eat the best, but I tried. I know that I made conscious choices to say no to somethings.

For example:

>I worked at Rustica and I only had one danish, nothing else. No cookies or samples or anything. If you went to Rustica you would know this was a feat!

>I attended a lovely bridal shower that actually had a very healthy menu. The host was a former cook for Dayton's Downtown. They served Muddy Paws Cheesecake. I could not resist, it would not have been polite. I only took seconds on one of the salads, so I am proud of that!

> I went to Snuffy's Malt Shop with my parents and only had water. ONLY WATER! I think that is worthy of celebration!

>Husband and I were zonked on Saturday night, so we ordered pizza from Jakeeno's. I ordered a pizza with lots of vegetables, so that helps make it healthier...right?

>I did some walking in the park yesterday and some sleeping. While I was sleeping I didn't eat!

Looking into this week, I hope to get to the gym at least twice, and make my dinners and lunches.

The quest to abandon pop is going ok. I have craved caffeine, but not cherry pepsi.
